STAR Consultancy is well named, having established a loyal long-standing client base over the seven years it has been in operation. STAR Consultancy has provided excellent service to hospitals and allied health professionals, the manufacturing sector, Indigenous councils and organisations, retail and wholesale stores, government bodies, not-for-profit organisations and agriculture and mining industries.

Principal Consultant with Safety, Training and Rehabilitation Consultancy is Jamen Wilcox, a highly qualified safety management expert who has extensive experience working in senior roles including WorkCover Case Management, Safety Consultancy with the Queensland Government and the Australian Business Solutions Group/Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland. He is also a talented fully Accredited Safety and Indigenous Community Capacity Building Trainer.

Jamen is passionate about safety. Frequently confronted with the reality of life-changing injuries that could and should have been avoided, he made the decision to start up his own consultancy. In 2007, STAR Consultancy was borne.

Since then, the business has grown, gaining a reputation for excellent service thanks to Jamen's deep understanding of safety needs, issues and interventions and his constantly up-to-date knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety legislation.

Creating a well-designed workable Safety Management System that is tailored to the client and context and seeing it make a real difference in the workplace, is a source of great pride for Jamen. His enduring partnerships with clients and staff ensures that the customised Safety Management System adapts and adjusts as times and context change, yet retains its unique, rigorous character.

Jamen believes that friendly, well informed influence is more likely to produce change than enforcement of obligations and impositions. He actively builds positive interpersonal relationships within each site and workplace, deeply valuing the special place he earns as safety designer, trainer and advisor. His priority is to see managers and staff become more empowered and proactive in relation to safety as a result of his long-term consultancy relationship with them.
